Establishment of PATRICIO ECHEVERRIA S.A.

Establishment of PATRICIO ECHEVERRIA S.A. Entrepreneur and with an advanced character for his time, Patricio Echeverría understood the importance of creating a mark, and of the constant work to maintain it. It studied the markets and it traveled in search of technological improvements and competitive advantages to maximize the excellence of the product and the customer service. This is the only way to explain that the mark Bellota continues being our most important assets today.

Beginning of the steel production

Beginning of the steel production In 1931 a plant was set up for the production of fine steel, carbon and alloyed steel, and in the electrical furnace, which is being extended and modernized according to the increasing needs of the demand. Thus, the “BELLOTA” steels have a recognized reputation and have been used in the manufacture of our tools and agricultural spare parts with the highest metallurgical characteristics.

Beginning of the forging for automotive

Beginning of the forging for automotiveThe manufacture of tool was complemented with the forge of industrial pieces. Becoming one of the most important suppliers in the automotive industry, both national and European, as well as of many other sectors. The development of this activity was reflected in the permanent technological update; from the installation of the first forge hammers, high speed press, and induction furnaces up to the last novelties in semi hot forge techniques and cold extrusion.

Beginning of the production in Venezuela

Beginning of the production in Venezuela The first productive investment took place in Cagua (Venezuela), in 1978, where a plant was set up for the production of hoes, mallets, hammers, pick mattocks, and chip axes.

Beginning of the production in Colombia

Beginning of the production in Colombia A second productive investment took place in Caldas (Colombia), in 1987. With the establishment in Colombia, Bellota was able not only to introduce its products in the Colombian market, but to take advantage of the synergy in the distribution that the local partner guaranteed being the second greater producer of the American market of machetes.

Beginning of the production Mexico

Beginning of the production Mexico This first stage of productive internationalization was closed with the establishment in Veracruz (Mexico). Bellota established in Mexico due to the strong Mexican economic and demographic growth and, along with them, the signing also in 1992 of the North America Free Trade Agreement among Canada, the United States and Mexico, allowed Bellota the entrance in the North American market.

Acquisition of SOLBJERG (Denmark)

Acquisition of SOLBJERG (Denmark) In 1995 the Danish company Solbjerg, manufacturer of components of agricultural machinery, was acquired to turn Bellota into the first European company of the sector, considering that it already dominated the market in the south of Europe.
1998

Acquisition of VIAT (Brasil)

Acquisition of VIAT (Brasil) The Corporation acquires in Brazil the companies Viat Ferramentas (1998). The brands that produced both companies: Expensive Viat, Tupy, Jacaré and Duas Caras, all of them with recognized prestige in the Brazilian market and in Latin America, were included under a new company called Bellota Brazil Ltd. dedicated to the manufacture of agricultural products and for the construction.
2000

Acquisition of CORONA (USA)

Acquisition of CORONA (USA) CORONA CLIPPER was founded at the end of the 40s, with headquarters in Corona (California), 60 miles from Los Angeles, where it has a production plant of 40,000 m2 out of which 7,000 m2 are used for industrial facilities.
